Christmas 2015: Christmas Eve Makeup Tutorial, Christmas Outfit Ideas and Vanilla Cupcakes with Candy Cane Bark
Hello again! Since it is December, its Christmas/holiday season! I've put together a little blog post that is Christmas themed that includes a makeup look, outfit ideas and a delicious cupcake recipe. If you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you can still enjoy this blog post.
Christmas Eve Makeup Tutorial
For this blog post, I've done a makeup tutorial for Christmas Eve. It is still quite a natural look but with a heavier eye and lip than my usual everyday makeup. Enjoy!
First, I apply my face moisturiser onto a freshly washed face. I am currently using the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Perfection Moisturising Day Cream. I really recommend this moisturiser for dry, sensitive skin.
Next, I apply my Swisse Nourish Anti - Ageing Eye Cream on the skin under and around my eyes. Then I put a small amount of Benefit's The Porefessional Primer all over my face.
Now we can start the makeup! I first apply concealer, and today I chose to use the Thin Lizzy Concealer Creme in Oriental Doll. This concealer is quite thick so you really only need a teeny tiny bit when applying, especially for under your eyes.
Next I apply my BB cream. You can use a foundation or replace it for a powder. I use the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream and then use Australis Ready Set Go Finishing Powder in True Translucent on top.
For the last step for my base, I apply bronzer and blush. For this particular look, I used the Models Prefer Mineral Powder Soft Touch in radiant bronze to contour my cheekbones. I tapped on some of the Sheercover Lip - to - Lid Bronzer with my ring finger on the same line of contour just to add some sparkle, then blended it out with a fluffy powder brush. Then, I added some Essence Silky Touch Blush in Babydoll on the apples of my cheek and up onto my cheekbones.
Next I do my eyebrows. To do this, I fill them in with powder first, then with a little bit of pencil.
So as you an see in the pictures above and below, I first use the brown shade named "B" from the Face of Australia Colour Max Pallete in Gold Mine. Then I brush my eyebrows out lightly with a spooly brush, then go back in with my pencil. The pencil I use is actually from my local Japanese store! It was only $2.80 and it is by far the best pencil I've ever used.
Now that my base is finished, I move onto my eyes! For this look, I use my one and only palette from ModelsPrefer that I talk about all the time.
For this particular look, I used the top left shade all over my lid to start. I then used the second shade from the left on the bottom row all over my lid and the fourth from the left as my crease colour. The picture below is the finished look of those couple of steps. It is very light, but I do prefer it light. Then I added a little bit of sparkle using the third shade on the bottom row.
The step I personally find the most important is eyelashes! I chose to use just mascara this time but you can put on false eyelashes and eyeliner if you wish! I used 3 mascaras to achieve the look I was going for, which was long and thick lashes.
I used the Maybelline Lash Sensational first, then Maybelline Lash Stiletto and then Bourjois Beauty Full Volume to finish off. I find the Lash Sensational is a really good start as it gives a little bit of length and volume. The Lash Stiletto is really good for length and the Full Volume is perfect for volume, as you would probably guess!
Last, but definitely not least, lips! I used the Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick in Fatal Red. Then I applied some Nivea Fruity Shine Peach.
And that is it! The lighting makes it all look a little light, especially the eyeshadow, but I promise its actually darker in real life!
Perfect Australian Christmas Outfit
One thing that every Australian can agree with me on is that it is super hot on Christmas Day! Instead of playing in the snow all day, we like to swim in the pool. Our Christmas lunches and dinners are more commonly cooked outside on the BBQ and warm, cosy Christmas jumpers are definitely not on the agenda!
Therefore, finding inspiration and ideas for Christmas outfits in Australia can be pretty difficult. So, I've put together some little outfits that are suitable for an Australian Christmas, similar to what I did last year!

Vanilla Cupcakes with Buttercream Icing and Choc & Candy Cane Bark
I don't know about you, but one of my favourite things about the festive season is the yummy treats! The other day I made these delicious vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing and a little piece of choc and peppermint candy cane bark placed in the top. They were absolutely delicious and my were a hit with my family!
And that is it! I hope all of you have a happy and Merry Christmas! If you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!
