Hello! Today I am posting a blog post that I really enjoyed writing and taking the pictures for. I have been pondering on the thought of making Youtube videos for a while now, but of you would like to see them please let me know! Now lets start! Hope you enjoy.
School is starting to get stressful and busy and I'm sure many people can relate in many different situations. One of my personal favourite ways to relax after a long day or week is to have a pamper night. In this beauty post I will be sharing my top tips to have a fantastic pamper night! You can do this by yourself or you could easily do it with your friends, sisters or even your mum!
1. Remove any makeup
Before you start applying anything else to your face, you need to start with a fresh face. For a makeup remover, I highly recommend the Swisse Micellar make up remover. Swisse is a company that uses all natural products and doesn't test on animals. This makeup remover is so lovely and removes face makeup, lipstick and even eyeliner and mascara. It is perfect for sensitive skin as it has no harsh chemicals in it. I use a cotton pad to remove my makeup.
2. Wash face
Now that you have removed all of your makeup, if any, it is time to wash your face. I like using a soothing cleanser style face wash instead of a exfoliating one. My personal favourite is the Swisse (again) Sweet Almond Cleanser. I absolutely love the smell of this face wash and it makes my skin so soft. It is soothing on the skin, and just like the makeup remover, it is chemical and "nasty stuff" free.
3. Time to apply scrubs!
Now it comes down to personal preference. You can either choose to have a bath or a shower. Personally, I find it easier to have a shower when applying scrubs but whatever you prefer is fine. You will need to have two scrubs available: one for body and one for lips. My favourite body scrub right now is the Lush Life's A Beach body scrub and my favourite lip scrub is actually one that some girls from my school made for a market day once. My lip scrub is actually just a sugar lip scrub so anything similar will work. You could even try make your own! I like to do the lips first so the oils can work in while I then scrub my body! This is really nice to do to make your skin lovely and soft, and having smooth lips can really help when applying darker lipsticks likes reds and purples.
4. Make and apply a face mask
This is my favourite step of them all! My favourite face mask to make is a avocado and banana (from the beautiful blog http://clueyblog.com/avocado-face-masks). All you will need to make it is 1/2 of a soft avocado, 1/2 of a banana and 1 egg yolk. To make it, all you need to do is put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Then apply evenly on to your face and leave on for the desired time! The recommend time is 10 minutes, but it wouldn't hurt leaving it on for a little bit longer.
5. Sit back and relaaaaaxxx
This is when the relaxing part really happens! Sit back with a movie, tv show or book of your choice. My current favourite movie to watch when relaxing is an oldie but a goodie, Clueless. I am also currently obsessed with Love Child and of course Pretty Little Liars! The book I am reading right now is called Shelter by Harlan Coben and I am so hooked! Its amazing! After 10 minutes, or after you've watched your movie, episode or chapter, wipe off the face mask and moisturise!
Here in Australia, even though its starting to get warm, its still pretty cold, so warmer clothes and jumpers are needed! For this blog post, I thought it would be appropriate to do a Winter Warmers collection for my Australian readers! Don't fret readers from other countries, winter is coming soon for you!
I currently have two favourite pair of jeans. They are both blue denim and were extremely affordable and great quality. The first pair (left picture) is from Valleygirl. I purchased them last winter, so I am not sure if they will still stock them, but it is worth a try having a look as they will most definitely have similar products now. They are good quality, wash well and are very comfortable to wear. The second pair (right picture) is from Supre. I have purchased these this winter, so they should still be in stock. They were affordbale and were a surprising find! They also wash well and are extremely comfortable.
I do have a few other jumpers, but this one jumper will forever and always be my favourite! It is from Cotton On and was also quite affordable. It is so thick and warm and the neutral colours make it easy to match with any bottoms; leggings, blue jeans, black jeans, anything!
This last, but definitely not least, item is probably one of my favourite items. It is a checkered shirt that can either be left open with a tank top underneath, layered underneath a jumper or just slightly buttoned up. I purchased this from Cotton On for about $15. It is so soft and comfortable and great quality too.
One thing that everybody loves is a good app. I know I can search for hours for the perfect app, and I also know how helpful something like this can be! I have decided to put together this small stash of my favourite apps at the moment. If you have any that you would like to recommend, leave a comment and I'll be sure to try them out!
1. Social Media
My favourite social media apps are definitely instagram, snapchat, Facebook and Youtube! They are so fun and supply so many ways to stay in contact with people!
Avairy is my absolute favourite app for editing photos! In fact, its the only app I use! It's easy to use, has many different options for editing and even has an option for stickers, redeye correction, drawing and text!
Although I do alternate between my actual Music app on my phone and Spotify, most of the time I do prefer Spotify! I love how easy it is to use and how it is free (when connected to internet, without premium).
4. Sleep Cycle
This sleep cycle app is absolutely brilliant! I've only started using it in the last week or so, but already I can feel my sleep patterns improving! The best part is that it wakes you up within a certain time (that you have set), but when you are in your lights sleep. It also provides you with important information about your sleep patterns and health tips.
And, a little side note, I absolutely love my new phone case! I actually got it for my birthday a couple months ago, but have totally forgotten to put it on my blog! Its a glitter case! The glitter moves around and sparkles and OHMYGOSH its absolutely gorgeous!
And that is it for this blog post! Again, I am so incredibly sorry for the large gaps in between the blog posts! As usual, make sure you are following my social media platforms for updates about blog posts, leave a comment, and make sure to check out my "Contact" page and fill out some surveys or leave me a message! Thank you for reading!
